Where is the Convention & Institute being held?
The Piano Technicians Guild 2026 Convention & Technical Institute will be held at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City in Alexandria, Virginia.
How do I reserve a hotel room?
Reservations may be made by going to the Hotel & Travel page.
How do I register for the Convention & Technical Institute?
Once registration has been opened, registration information can be found by clicking the Registration link on any of the Convention & Technical Institute web pages.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellations and requests for refunds must be received in writing. Refunds will be processed less an administrative fee.

Are the RPT Exams offered during the convention?
Exams will be offered at the 2026 convention. The written exam is $25. Technical and Tuning
exams are $210 each. You can purchase these when you register for the convention. Click on
Exams in the top menu for more information. You will need to fill out an exam information form
and return it to sandy@ptg.org to be scheduled for an exam.
How do I know if a session has been cancelled or changed?
Class and schedule changes are announced at the opening session and posted on the bulletin boards at the Registration Desk and Institute Office. We also try to note class changes on signs placed by classroom doors. Feel free to stop by the Institute Team office if you have questions.
Where can I find a Convention & Technical Institute schedule?
The full Convention & Technical Institute schedule will be available in the program book and on this website as soon as it has been finalized.
Can anyone attend the evening events and non-class activities?
Concert and reception admittance is free and open to anyone unless otherwise noted. Events
that are invitation-only are indicated on the schedule.
